Privacy Policy

Plain English summary

CloudLift does not collect, transmit, or share any of your personal data. Your footage stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no servers receiving anything from you.

What CloudLift does

CloudLift is a macOS utility that reads your local Photos library and exports video files to a folder destination of your choice. All processing happens locally on your Mac.

Data we collect

We collect nothing. CloudLift does not:

Permissions CloudLift requests

📷
Photos Library access
Required to display your video clips and read metadata (date, duration, filename). CloudLift never modifies, deletes, or uploads anything in your Photos library.
📁
Folder access (export destination)
When you choose an export folder, macOS grants CloudLift access to write files there. This access is limited to the folder you select, stored as a security-scoped bookmark on your device, and never transmitted anywhere.
☁️
Network access (iCloud downloads only)
If a video clip is stored in iCloud rather than locally, CloudLift triggers an iCloud download through Apple's standard Photos framework. No data is sent to any server operated by CloudLift or its developer. All network activity goes directly between your device and Apple's iCloud infrastructure.

Local storage

CloudLift stores the following data locally on your device only:

None of this data leaves your device.

Third-party services

CloudLift uses no third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or external APIs. The only external service involved is Apple's Photos and iCloud frameworks, which are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

CloudLift does not collect any data from any user, including children. The app is rated 4+ on the Mac App Store.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Given the nature of the app — no data collection by design — we do not expect this policy to change.
